A groundbreaking, non-occlusive airway dilation balloon is set to arrive on the UK market. The device, called ‘The Trachealator’, can be used on both adults and children for treating airway stenosis and allows continuous ventilation in patients, due to its innovative design and construction.
Manufactured by South African-based Disa Medinotecand distributed in the UK exclusively by DP Medical Systems, the Trachealator non-occlusive airway dilation balloon features a cluster of balloons that expand at a high-pressure rating (RBP 12 atm) around a central open channel.
The award-winning device re-folds easily for extraction, has markers for visual and radiographic positioning and, with a working length of 650mm, it can be inserted through a rigid bronchoscope. A guidewire is included on all units.
