Whole blood critical care analyser produces rapid results

Prime Plus, from Nova Biomedical, is a comprehensive, whole blood critical care analyser that offers blood gases, electrolytes, metabolites, CO-Oximetry, and 34 calculated results, in a simple, compact device.

Prime Plus combines maintenance-free, component cartridge technology for sensors and reagents, with patented non-lysing whole blood CO-Oximetry technology. Prime Plus results are produced rapidly, a complete test menu panel in under two minutes, and are combined with bidirectional connectivity, a robust data management system, and comprehensive cybersecurity protection.

Comprehensive critical care menu, configurable for all departments

With unique parameters, such as ionised magnesium (iMg) and estimated plasma volume (ePV), Prime Plus helps clinicians to assess patient intravascular volume, acid base balance, blood oxygenation, oxygen carrying capacity of blood, tissue hypoxia, electrolyte balance, kidney function, and glucose control. The complete test menu includes pH, PCO2, PO2, Na, K, Cl, iCa, iMg, Glucose, Lactate, BUN/Urea, Creatinine, Hct, Hb, ePV, MCHC, SO2%, and CO-Oximetry. The solution also offers:

  • Clot protection: Prime Plus’s exceptional Clot Block™ sample flow path protects sensor cards from blood clot blockages.
  • Automated, true liquid QC: QC cartridges contain a 30-day supply of liquid QC material. Controls run automatically at user-selected intervals.

Nova Biomedical is a technology leader in the development of fast, whole blood analysers to support the care of hospitalised and critically ill patients. Nova analysers offer extensive stat test menus and deliver results in the shortest time at the lowest costs. Nova also provides handheld meter-and-strip based measuring systems for glucose, ketone, lactate, haematocrit, haemoglobin, and creatinine point-of-care testing. Whether testing is performed in the central laboratory or in emergency, surgical, critical, or respiratory care areas, Nova analysers can help to improve patient outcomes.
