The Functional Gut Clinic, the UK’s leading specialist provider of digestive health diagnostics, today announced the expansion of its Manchester operations into a new, state‑of‑the‑art facility at CityLabs: the flagship biomedical campus at the heart of Manchester’s innovation district.
Founded in Manchester and now recognised internationally for its pioneering approach to gut health, the Functional Gut Clinic is entering a new phase of growth following significant investment from Foresight Group. The move to CityLabs reflects both the clinic’s rapid expansion and Manchester’s emergence as one of the UK’s fastest‑growing life sciences hubs.
The new clinic will house:
- An expanded diagnostics centre offering the clinic’s full suite of specialist gut and digestion tests
- Enhanced capacity to support the NHS, including specialist tertiary‑care diagnostics in close partnership with NHS hospitals in the region
- A dedicated gut health offering, supporting the “democratisation of digestion” making gut wellness accessible to everyone
- A new clinical trials facility, integrated within the wider CityLabs research ecosystem, to help accelerate the UK’s digestive health research
